1937 – 2022 In memoriam

American rockabilly singer and guitarist, born near Lubbock, Texas in 1937 and died in 2022, best known as co-writer of Buddy Holly's Oh, Boy! and Rave On. He cut his first singles at Norman Petty's Clovis studio from 1956, returned to recording in 2001 after four decades away, and was inducted into the West Texas Walk of Fame in 2016.
