            I Drank That Barrel Down
Rhythm' Train
(Urs Odermatt - L. Steele, 2005)
I've been gone too long
There ain't no end in sight
Lord, please help me make it
 Round just one more bend
Gonna tell y'all a story
How I saved my poor ol' horse
We'd been through so much together
 I really had no choice
Drank drank drank that barrel down
 Folks sure were surprised
 when I staggered into town
 Perched high upon a cliff
 with the devil down below
 I drank that barrel down
 Was a mighty fine Merlot
Well the road was gettin' narrow
And I had to lead the way
Took my horses reins in hand
 And then began to pray
Them rocks they sure were jagged
Hoped we'd make it safe to town
 Things were looking pretty good
Till them rocks came tumblin' down
Drank drank drank that barrel down
 Folks sure were surprised
 when I staggered into town
 Perched high upon a cliff
 with the devil down below
 I drank that barrel down
 Was a mighty fine Merlot
I felt the devil's breath
As them rocks flew round my head
Thought he'd come for me at last
But my horse got hit instead
Could see him start to sway
One barrel was smashed in two
 That weight became his fate
Only one thing left to do...
Drank drank drank that barrel down
 Folks sure were surprised
 when I staggered into town
 Perched high upon a cliff
 with the devil down below
 I drank that barrel down
 Was a mighty fine Merlot
