Boppin

Boppin' Guitar

Ray Melton

(Walker - Helms, IMAGE 45-1005, 1960)

I got a boppin' guitar to take along with me
Everytime I take my baby on a rockin' spree
When we get to the place where the cats all jive
Well, my boppin' guitar brings the joint alive

Well, the cat from Memphis set the country afire
Shakin' and a-rockin' with his boppin' guitar
On every corner throughout the land
Without a guitar, well a band ain't a band
A sax man, drummer can set off the beat
A rockin' piano sounds nice and sweet
But something is missing, it ain't complete
Till a boppin' guitar sweeps you off your feet
Yeah!

I got a boppin' guitar to take along with me
Everytime I take my baby on a rockin' spree
When we get to the place where the cats all jive
Well, my boppin' guitar brings the joint alive
A sax man, drummer can set off the beat
A rockin' piano sounds nice and sweet
But something is missing, it ain't complete
Till a boppin' guitar sweeps you off your feet
