Didn

Didn't It Rock

Jim & Rod, The Noble Bros.

(James Noble - George Weston, CHALLENGE 59034, 1958)

Well, I was sittin' in a juke joint feelin' kind of low
Tellin' all my troubles to my best friend Joe
Someone put a nickel in the record machine
Three tenor saxophones started to scream
Yeah, didn't it rock
I said, didn't it roll
Yeah, the music up and hit with a sock
What I mean to say is, well didn't it rock
A rockin' rollin' guitar up and split the air
It send a spine chillin' tingle runnin' through my hair
The peoples up and dancin' really havin' a ball
Catchin' mad music comin' off of the wall
Yeah, didn't it rock
I said, didn't it roll
Yeah, the music up and hit with a sock
What I mean to say is, well didn't it rock

Well, I can't sit still no longer, gotta get up and move
I'm here to tell you, man that music's flat in the groove
I sure am glad I brought along my dancin' shoes
Diggin' that music called the rhythm & blues
Yeah, didn't it rock
I said, didn't it roll
Yeah, the music up and hit with a sock
What I mean to say is, well didn't it rock
I'm tellin' you the music hit with a sock
Dancin' the bop to satisfy my soul
Puttin' out music called rock & roll

Also recorded by Dave & Deke Combo
