The Johnny Burnette Trio (US)

1981 –

The later incarnation of the Rock and Roll Trio, billed variously as the Johnny Burnette Trio and the Johnny Burnette Rock 'n' Roll Trio. Johnny Burnette died in 1964 and his brother Dorsey in 1979, so every booking under the name from the 1980s onwards is this act rather than the original: guitarist Paul Burlison recreated the group in the early 1980s with Johnny Black and Tony Austin, and Johnny's son Rocky Burnette fronted it on occasion. The souvenir programme for the sixth Caister weekender in November 1981 billed it as 'The Johnny Burnette Trio with Rocky Burnette'. The exact personnel varied by booking and is not documented for every date.
