The RockTigers (KR)
2001 – 2013 Disbanded
Seoul band active from 2001 to 2013, rooted in the jump blues, boogie woogie and rockabilly of the 1940s and 1950s and billed under the tag kimchibilly, coined by a foreign fan for their Korean take on the style. Never a mainstream act, they built a following in the Hongdae club scene and abroad. Their core line-up was Velvet Geena on vocals and acoustic guitar, Tiger on vocals and guitar and Roy on bass; the rest of the roster changed between records.
