Japanese singer and actor who made his singing debut at 18 and won the Presley award at the 20th Nichigeki Western Carnival. His 1964 cover of the Animals' 'Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood' was a hit, followed in 1970 by 'Ashita no Joe'.
