Born in Italy in the 1940s, she was already appearing on television and radio in the 1950s. It was around then that she received an offer from Mercury in America and moved there to carry on working. During her stay in the USA she came across the thing that would mark the rest of her life: Rock'n'Roll.
Back again in the 1960s she took up a musical career that did not launch her into international recognition, and she settled in France.
There she was known to everyone, appearing at the main musical events of the 1960s; the dominance of ye-yé, however, pushed her out of the music world and she withdrew from the scene little by little, carrying on with television. Even so, whenever Rock'n'Roll flared up again, there she was, whether singing or in occasional appearances on the small screen.
She is a very large woman, in body as much as in heart. She has a powerful voice, one that will surprise many.
She is currently the best-known female rock voice in France, with a prodigious voice, and she has her own group called "Guépards". She has made many recordings and countless other works, the standouts being the tracks made with "ses guepards", on which she plays and sings genuine Rockabilly in both French and Italian. She is also a great songwriter and has songs that any band today would envy.
Among her most notable covers are: "By the light of the silvery moon", "Wedding bell", "That´s all right mama", "Love me" (no Elvis), "Crazy man, crazy" etc... and among her own compositions the standouts are: "Les americains", "Teddy girl", "Rock´n´roll toujours", "I´am a little lady", "Rockabilly en tele", etc...
The guépards group is made up of:
- GUITARS: Marc Daenen
- UPRIGHT BASS: Freddy Meyer
- DRUMS: Gregoire Garrigues
- PIANO: Simon Elliot
- SAXOPHONE: Alain Villaneau
As for known records by this brilliant line-up with C.C. out front, I only know of two: "LA FUREUR DE VIVRE" and "COCKTAIL ROCK´n´ROLL". Both 100% Rockabilly.
Discover this brilliant rocker if you have not already. It is worth it.
