The fifth edition of what has by now become a well-known roots festival. Three top bands are playing again, namely Junior Marvel & his Hi-Tombs from the Netherlands, Jake Calypso & his Red Hot from France and Marcel Bontempi & Ira Lee from Germany. Dj Daz will take care of the music between the sets. Junior Marvel And The Hi-Tombs were formed in 2017 by Mike, Fredo and Tim Mercury. They played for the first time at the legendary Eindhoven café Rambler. After that they played support for Big Sandy in Essen (D) and Dale Watson in Helmond. Tim then left The Hi-Tombs and was replaced as lead singer by Mike. After a while Junior Marvel joined, and then drummer Yves Vaillant of Tin Star Trio, making The Hi-Tombs the most versatile rockabilly band in the Netherlands. Marcel Bontempi & Ira Lee play second. Marcel Bontempi is known from The Montesas, with whom he played refreshing sixties beat, fifties rock'n'roll and dark covers. A few years ago he fulfilled an old dream by founding his own hillbilly band, Dr. Bontempi's Snake Oil Company. That band plays with double bass, fiddle, blues harp and guitars and recently recorded an LP for Squoodge Records of Berlin. Jake Calypso & his Red Hot close the evening. Jake started playing rock'n'roll at thirteen. In the 1980s he made his first album for Mac Records, the legendary Belgian label. He later released an album with Mystery Train on Rockhouse Records (NL) and one on Eagle Records (D). Together with The Red Hot, Jake has played many festivals with a great deal of energy and crazy shows, among them Viva Las Vegas, Rockabilly Rave, High Rockabilly and Hangar Rockin' ...
