The Winter Dance Party at the Kato Ballroom in Mankato, Minnesota on Sunday 25 January 1959 — an early stop of the legendary 1959 tour that would end days later in the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper ('the day the music died'). Billed as a 'Teen-Age Special', the show featured Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper and Dion and the Belmonts, with Frankie Sardo as an extra attraction. 7:30 to 11:00 pm.
