Bill Haley and His Comets, of 'Rock Around the Clock' and 'Shake, Rattle and Roll' fame, headline the Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas on Friday 14 October 1955. The bill also featured Jimmie Rodgers Snow and, as a local opening act, an 18-year-old Buddy Holly (with Bob Montgomery and Larry Welborn) — a set that impressed a visiting Nashville agent and led directly to Holly's first recording contract.
