The fifth Rhythm Riot, held at Pontins Holiday Centre in Camber, on the East Sussex coast near Rye. The 1950s rhythm & blues and roots rock 'n' roll weekender billed Jimmy McCracklin, Wanda Jackson, H-Bomb Ferguson, Chuck Rio of The Champs and The Bobbettes as its American headliners, alongside an international supporting bill and the Rhythm Riot Rhythm & Blues Revue. The weekend also featured the Sunday afternoon classic car cruise to Rye with an official town centre reception and prize giving, the biggest specialist vintage market in the UK, a 1950s barber and hairdresser, an indoor boot sale and Rhythm Riot TV broadcast free to every apartment.
