Festival
Rhythm Riot! 2007
On stage
More info
The eleventh Rhythm Riot ran from Friday 23rd to Monday 26th November 2007 at Pontins Holiday Centre in Camber, Sussex. Three of the advertised headliners did not appear: Janis Martin had died earlier that year and Roddy Jackson took her Sunday slot with a tribute, Roscoe Chenier fell ill and was replaced by Kenny 'Blues Boss' Wayne, and Herb Cox of The Cleftones was too unwell to travel, so the Legends of Doo Wop played as a trio of Eugene Pitt, Earl 'Speedo' Carroll and Harvey Fuqua. Sun and Ike Turner alumnus Dennis Binder and 1940s child prodigy Sugar Chile Robinson also appeared, and King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys closed the weekend. New that year were a fifteen-minute have-a-go DJ slot hosted by Wildcat Pete and a free shuttle to Rye in a restored 1956 Bedford coach.
