The third Rhythm Riot ran from Friday 26th to Monday 29th November 1999 at Pontins Holiday Centre in Camber, on the East Sussex coast near Rye, and was the first edition to run three nights. Promoters Robin, Colette and Jerry Chat-A-Box brought over saxophone legend Big Jay McNeely, vocal duo Marvin & Johnny for their first ever UK show, honking tenor player Joe Houston, Nappy Brown on a long-awaited return to the UK and Big Sandy & His Fly-Rite Boys, alongside acts from the UK, France, Canada and Japan. Music ran across three venues, with the Sunday classic car cruise into Rye for a town centre reception and prize giving, the Sunday morning indoor boot sale, and Rhythm Riot TV broadcast free to every apartment.
