El Paso Rock & Blues 2018 — Especial Música Retroamericana
On stage
More info
The 2018 edition of the El Paso Rock & Blues Festival was spread over five separate evenings on the terrace of the Teatro Monterrey, between 19 July and 25 August, within the programme of the Fiestas Trienales de la Bajada de la Virgen del Pino on the Canary island of La Palma. The two closing dates were the American retro music strand. On Friday 24 August the bill was Fran Baraja Swing, Brighton Rumblers and Thunder Rockets, all from Tenerife, with Be Bop on the turntables from Gran Canaria; the official poster misprints that third act as Sunset Rockets, a name for which no band is documented, while Thunder Rockets were playing Tenerife at the time. On Saturday 25 August the Car Show Day, staged alongside the early twentieth century street party and the classic car parade, billed Indiana Dixieland, Blue Moon Boys and Mama Manouse, closing with a Tihuya Cats tribute set played by Emma Martin, Hector Quintero and Cesar Parker, and the vinyl DJs Pimienta Selectoras. The three earlier evenings of the run were given over to other styles: Cesar Parker & The Roosters and Full de Copas on 19 July, Suarez R.C. and Lady Barbuda on 2 August, and Los Vinagres with Maldito Derrape on 9 August.
