Kittyhawk Bomber Billies + support | VERA
More info
The Kittyhawk Bomber Billies are back! This Groningen rockabilly band was formed in the late '80s and brought the city and the surrounding area their own energetic, raw rockabilly, psychobilly and rock & roll. Back in the day the men toured the country with their hefty quiffs and big double bass in a 1970s hearse, and with it they saw most of the stages and streets there are. Thirty years on, it is time for a reunion concert... and where else but at Vera!? But there is more! The Kittyhawk Bomber Billies are joined by Bigsby's Rocketeers, Gravediggers and Flatt Mountain. An evening full of rockabilly, psychobilly and rock & roll, then! Bigsby's Rocketeers is the rockabilly band of 'Singing Barber' Bigsby, known as the man behind the average quiff in the Netherlands. He was also the old roadie of the Kittyhawk Bomber Billies. Their "truck drivin gas pumpin gasoline gulpin steamin rockabilly" will give you a sudden urge to climb behind the wheel of a 1950s Caddy. Groningen's Gravediggers came together in the mid-'90s and make blazing psychobilly rock & roll, comparable to Johnny Burnette, The Cramps and Reverend Horton Heat. The sparks literally fly at their tight, fast and raw live shows. Finally we have Flatt Mountain, a bluegrass band from Meppel who play bluegrass traditionals and numbers by the likes of Bill Monroe, the Stanley Brothers and Flatt & Scruggs.
