JAKE LA BOTZ. Saturday 21 March, 10pm. Jake La Botz creates dark poetry and song, music that gets into your bones and lingers, a sound and vision that only those who have hit rock bottom can compose. In October 2019 he released his latest album "They're Coming for Me", with a tour to present it in March 2020. To record it, La Botz returned to Chicago with his old friend Jimmy Sutton of Hi-Style Records and JD McPherson's band. At Sutton's Chicago studio, the two worked to merge Sutton's classic American roots-music background with La Botz's natural leanings toward country blues, gospel, 60s pop and 70s rock 'n' roll. La Botz has toured extensively across the USA and Europe and has opened for Ray Charles, Etta James, Dr. John, Mavis Staples, JD McPherson, Buddy Guy, Jr. Wells, Taj Mahal, Buckwheat Zydeco, Tony Joe White, John Hammond and The Blasters, among others.
