The "Rhythm Torpedoes" from the greater Marburg / Lahn area are an outfit devoted to the music of the 1950s and its wilder variants. Formed in 2011 on a drunken whim, the current line-up settled after a few changes on the instruments. Since the singer's voice often recalls the old master of rockabilly and country music, Mr Johnny Cash, a few numbers from his pen are usually played. Mainly, though, the programme consists of dynamic original compositions — but well-known and more rarely played pieces by various artists also get an airing as the mood takes them. Live, it is played full throttle with no brakes, and so the Rhythm Torpedoes hit the bullseye — in this case the ear canal and the dance-hungry feet of the audience.
