More info

When talking about Psychobilly, there is no way around the Dutch Batmobile formation. Since the mid-1980s, the trio has earned an excellent reputation in the scene with numerous gigs all over the world. Jeroen Haamers (vocals/guitar), Johnny Zuidhof (drums) and Eric Haamers (slap-bass) seem to be most surprised by the great success. Finally, the band started in 1983 as a hobby project. Batmobile will play songs by Elvis Presley and Gene Vincent in the rehearsal room. The rockabilly roots shape the music of Batmobile. The first appearances are rather unspectacular. The international breakthrough came with the first album release "Kix 4 U". Festival appearances in Great Britain, where so far only bands like The Meteors or Demented Are Go headline. The second half of the 80s and early 90s are the band's most productive times. "Bambooland" (1987), "Bail Was Set At $ 6,000,000" (1988), "Buried Alive" (1988), "Amazon From Outer Space" (1989), "Batmobile Is Dynamite" (1990), "Hard Hammer Hits "(1992) and" Blast From The Past "(1993) find their way into the public eye. After a gig in New York in 1995, Batmobile disappeared from the scene for three years. 2001 discovered a new generation of Psychos Batmobile. The first tribute album is released in Japan, for which the band is contributing a song for the first time with "Baby Go Back Home". Batmobile is also part of the successor released in 2003. For the compilation, they record "Deep Down". The band has been on tour again regularly since 2003 and released their last album in 2017. Also on this evening are the Churchieboys from Kirchberg.
