Rockabilly Music Festival - #13 Blues at Moonlight 2021. 25-28 November 2021. During the last week of November the "Blues at Moonlight" rockabilly festival returns to Benalmadena on the Costa del Sol, running Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 inclusive. Rockabilly is one of the first subgenres to emerge from rock and roll, in the United States in the 1950s, and has since spread worldwide. Its musical origins lie in rock and roll, rhythm and blues, country, bluegrass and hillbilly jazz; it rose to a golden age in the 1950s and enjoyed a revival from the 1980s, with common instruments being guitar, double bass and drums. The festival is held in the Moonlight room of the Sunset Beach Club Hotel in Benalmadena Costa, the thirteenth edition to take place there. Some daytime activities also happen on the Oasis hotel terrace, such as DJ sets (spinning original 7" 45rpm vinyl singles) and midday acoustic concerts. After it could not be held in 2020, the 2021 festival features 12 concerts and 6 DJs (plus guests). The festival runs from midday on the Oasis terrace, free to hotel guests and visitors, moving in the late afternoon until the early hours to the Moonlight room (ticket only).
