Get ready for a lively, fun filled night of vintage style glamour, lush cocktails, and of some great sounds as Jukebox Sunday Night Jive returns to it’s North London roots. A great jive party night for fans of the jive music from the 40's and 50's American jukebox era, now at The Horatia Pub in Holloway. Join Retro diva and vinyl queen DJ Jen (from Jump Jive and Shout) who will get you dancing and having fun all night long, with the red hot, pulsating, uplifting, energy driven vintage vinyl sounds that sizzle. Red hot 1940’s and 1950’s rhythm n blues, jump jive, doo wop, jivers, rock ‘n’ roll, blues shouters, big band swing and a whole lot more from some great names like Chuck Berry, Louis Prima, Louis Jordan, The Jacks, Pee Wee King, LaVern Baker, Cab Calloway, Lucky Millinder, Little Richard, Ruth Brown, Buddy Holly, The 5 Keys, The Du Droppers, Big Joe Turner and all the rest. Dynamic sounds that rocked the jukeboxes, gin houses and rent parties all over American and still sounds as fresh today as it did way back then. A nice venue, The Horatia has wooden floor, cool bar serving delicious vintage inspired cocktails (2 for 1 with the flyer), a new menu, dance area, making Jukebox Sunday Night Jive at the Horatia the place to be on a Sunday night.
