4 Gatos Rockers Club Festival

Retro-american music and Spanish rock and roll festival run by the 4 Gatos Rockers Club on the Canary island of La Palma, and for years the largest classic rock and roll event in the archipelago. It moved around the island rather than settling in one town, using the seafront at Puerto Naos in Los Llanos de Aridane, the town of El Paso and, for its eighth edition, the Recinto Popular on the Avenida Maritima of Santa Cruz de La Palma during the Bajada de la Virgen. Alongside the concerts it programmed burlesque, photographic exhibitions of the island's rockers, classic motorcycle and car meetings and open jam sessions. Despite the size of the island the bills drew artists from the United States, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany as well as from mainland Spain, and the club's regulars - Tihuya Cats from La Palma, Little Big Rebel and Los Contratiempos from Tenerife, and Uncle Charlie from Valladolid - returned almost every year. The first edition is not documented; the second was held in 2005 and the ninth in 2011.
