Reverend Beat-Man (CH)

1967 –

Stage name of Beat Zeller, born 1967 in Switzerland: a one-man band, DJ and record label owner, and one of the central figures of the Bern underground. He recorded from the age of thirteen as Taeb Zerfall, took the name Lightning Beat-Man in 1984 and formed the psychobilly band The Monsters in Bern in 1986, which he still leads. He has performed as Reverend Beat-Man since 1999, playing guitar and drums at once in a style he calls primitive rock and roll and gospel blues trash. He is the founder and head of Voodoo Rhythm Records, the Bern label that has released his own records and much of the Swiss trash and garage scene since 1992.
