The inaugural Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, held over Easter weekend 1998 at the Gold Coast Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Founded by British promoter Tom Ingram, the first edition established the four-day Thursday-to-Sunday format of live rockabilly, jump blues and 1950s rock'n'roll that would grow into the world's largest event of its kind. The bill mixed original 1950s stars with a new generation of American and European revival acts.
