Rockin' Pilar 1991

More info

The first Rockin' Pilar festival, a 1950s rock 'n' roll and rockabilly show held on 12 October 1991 at the Carpa Pignatelli in Zaragoza during the city's Fiestas del Pilar, organised by Alfonso Cito. Staged to mark the 20th anniversary of Gene Vincent's death, it was headlined by his original backing band The Blue Caps, with Matchbox singer Graham Fenton fronting a Gene Vincent tribute, supported by British rockabilly revivalists The Flying Saucers and local Zaragoza band Los Dynamos. Around 1,500 people packed the tent, well over its capacity.
