This edition was announced by Boston Jive as HRB#3 for 2 and 3 May 2020 and was called off when the COVID-19 pandemic reached the UK; the promoters published a postponement notice that spring. The third Hot Rock 'n' Boogie eventually took place on 14 and 15 May 2022, carrying the same edition number, and much of this bill returned for it.
