The Crickets (US)
1957 – 2016 Disbanded
American band formed in Lubbock, Texas in 1957 around Buddy Holly, with Jerry Allison on drums and Joe B. Mauldin on bass. 'That'll Be the Day' and 'Oh, Boy!' were credited to the Crickets while Holly's solo records carried his own name. They shared the autumn 1957 Biggest Show of Stars and the January 1958 teenage package tour with Eddie Cochran, and continued after Holly's death in 1959.
