American guitarist, singer and songwriter (St. Louis, Missouri, 1926 - 2017) and one of the founders of rock and roll. Signed to Chess Records in 1955, he wrote and recorded Maybellene, Roll Over Beethoven, Rock and Roll Music and Johnny B. Goode, and was among the first artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
