Lee Gordon's 'Big Show' at the Newcastle Stadium in Newcastle West, New South Wales on Wednesday 2 October 1957 — two houses, at 6.00 and 8.45 pm. The Newcastle Morning Herald advertisement billed 'America's two top rock 'n roll groups', with seats at 39/6 and 29/6 for the late show and 29/6 and 19/6 for the early one, booking at Palings and Rayfords, and offered £25 to the best dancing couple at each performance. Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps were advertised but did not appear; the Herald's review of 3 October instead records Johnny O'Keefe and his Dee-Jays on stage. The stadium, a converted boxing hall in Newcastle's West End, was demolished and the site is now the Marketown shopping centre.
