Gene Vincent & Eddie Cochran — Coventry 1960
More info
The second date of Larry Parnes' Anglo-American Beat Show, at the Gaumont Theatre in Coventry on Thursday 28 January 1960 — two houses, at 5.30 and 8.45 pm, after three days of rehearsals in London. Gene Vincent, backed by the Wildcats, and Eddie Cochran shared top billing, with Vince Eager supporting. Local press noted shrieking inside the theatre but no scenes outside: Britain was still wary of rock 'n' roll.
