Weekend Internacional de Rock'n'Roll de Balaguer

Short-lived international rock'n'roll and rockabilly festival held in Balaguer (Lleida) for three consecutive summers, 1991 to 1993. The first edition was billed as a one-day "I Jornada Internacional Rock 'n' Roll" and was presented by the Welcome Rock 'n' Roll Club of Barcelona together with the 50's Rockin' Club of Balaguer; from 1992 it ran as a two-day "Weekend Internacional de Rock'n'Roll". By the third edition it was organised by Sun 50's Rockin' Club and Tweety Imports with the collaboration of the Ajuntament de Balaguer, drew around three thousand people to the Cros fairground pavilions, and combined concerts by American, British, German, Dutch and Spanish acts with a record and clothing market, a motorcycle club meet, a rock'n'roll dance-couple contest and open-air meals on the banks of the Segre. It is unrelated to the Riverside Crazy Car Hop, which the same town hosted from 2006.
